!!SOLD!! 288-R1136. AR-15 Colt Competition HBAR,
Model R6701, s/n CH000398 Colt Custom Shop Rifle with Box. This is a very
scarce model Pre Ban (pre September 1994) AR-15 of which reportedly only 2,000
were made as Special Limited Edition Rifles produced by the Colt Custom Shop.
This rifle has all of the typical features of an early AR-15A2 including: slick
side lower receiver (without fence around the mag catch button), A2 type stock,
hand guards, pistol grip, flash hider, forward assist, and case deflector. Typical
of the period, there is no bayonet lug. The special features of this model are
railed flat-top upper receiver, Colt Custom Shop tuned trigger pull, and the HBAR
profile barrel is of 1 in 9 twist and is chrome-lined. Included in the sale is
the original box, manual, hang tag, cleaning rods, one new condition 20-rd Colt
magazine with plastic follower, and one lightly used older 20-rd Colt magazine
with metal follower. This rifle appears to have had very few rounds fired
